In a few days, Nigeria will be celebrating her Independence Day. I understand that the nation is not where we want it to be right now. In fact, it often seems like there is no hope for this country we call Nigeria. The first thing that comes to mind when Nigeria is mentioned is often to start complaining or speaking negatively about the country.
I understand this perfectly well. But, do you realize that whatever your child(ren) hear you say about the country is what they will say among their friends? And even continue to believe when they grow up and become adults like you?
If you trace your life back to when you were a child, everything you heard your parents say about Nigeria is likely what you are saying now.
What if you changed the narrative by always speaking blessings over Nigeria *in the presence of your child(ren)?*
What if you helped that boy or girl see that they are the ones who can change Nigeria for the better?
What if you broke the cycle of passing down national curses to the next generation?
This is one of the reasons I am hosting children for "Play and Pray for Nigeria." I just want to do my part in making Nigeria better, one child at a time.
